Welcome to Writing for the Web, a journalism course at UMass, where we will do three things together this semester:
1. Engage in great conversations.
2. Learn from our texts, our writing, our work and our conversations.
3. Have fun.
This blog will serve as home base for the course. Come here for the latest in assignments or class announcements. Come here for the latest links that will take you to places on the Web that will add to the work we are doing and the conversations we are having. Come here to comment on how things are going.
As you get your own blog going, I encourage you to stop by here daily if not more often. You may feel inclined to join the comment threads. Or it may give you some ideas for topics that you can blog on yourself. Plus, it will keep you in tune with all the conversations that will be swirling around this course this semester.
I am happy you decided to take this course, and I look forward to an engaging, interactive, thought-provoking, fun semester.
